For the past few months ( maybe a year) everything in malaysia evolves around politics. barisan nasional, pakatan rakyat, hindraf, anwar ibrahim, and now Permatang Pauh in lime light.
Everyone is focused on political reformation. Yes, i agree that is important. But why are we (indians) closing our eyes on social reformation. are we? blogpost link (POLITICAL REFORMATION VS SOCIAL REFORMATION.)
Recently, Tamil nesan reported that, the number of Indian youths involved in various crimes has increased tremendously.

MIC has requested for a meeting with Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan to discuss the sharp rise in the number of Indian youths getting involved in crime over the past few months.

Current Indian population stood at 7.8% and this was expected to fall to 7% in five years. Decreasing population but increasing crime level?

I fully support that we must educate Indian Youths to be good citizen and not to involve in criminal activities. However, the MIC leaders always look for thugs for their protection. A national youth leader appointed by Samy was inrfamous thug in Klang. His brother was detained under ISA because of his involvement in promoting gangstarism. Ever General Assembly of the MIC delegats were prevented from questioning Samy by Thugs. Even in a MAIKA Holding meeting Dato Subramaniam and those who questioned about the misappropriation of funds were assaulted. Thugs, in fact, were produced by the MIC and MIC was the mother of all thugs. I request, you elect decent people with clean record and then the Indians will realise that thugs and criminals have no place in MIC and the society will reject them. Clean your own house before you try to clean other's house.
Punithan have some shame and realise that all the problems that Indians face now is because of the MIC, Samy Vellu and the fake Malay Mahathir. Mahathir wants Indian yet he led to the distruction of the indian community. Samy vellu prostitued the indian community for his benifits.
I will not have to wait long for Anwar to be Prime Minister to handle you people. Hopefully like saddam you too will get a MMS of Samy Vellu hanging like a dog.

Hi, I knew about this increasing crime rate and dwindling population thing years ago.
Thing is when I spoke about it.. People just ignored it, including MIC leaders. The police couldn't give a damn too. And BN main head honcho party(you know what party) utterly couldn't care.
I remember that even sources from within the YSS(dont ask whom) were very frustrated by the lack of commitment.
Well, if this is being looked into seriously now. Then i must say this is a miracle. Oh and welcome back to reality...it sucks I know :P

But, the question now is, are we going to give up? ( ppl like you and me)
The next question, what we can do? I think we are taking the 1st step by asking the question....
So what next.... we'll see what MIC youth gonna do.
While waiting for them to 'walk' something... we can do our part.
Can always start from us, our family and surrounding.
That's the 1st line of social reformation brother....
CRime the roots couse is economy....addres that first, it nice to study in Indonesia and talk about Malaysian Indians, there is no Merdeka for malaysian Indians....
