THE MIC has called on the Govern-ment to expedite the setting up of an inter-race relations council mooted by the party to discuss race-based issues, reported Tamil Nesan.
Party president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu, in a statement on Saturday, said the council could be formed even before the proposed Race Relations Act was tabled in Parlia-ment.
He said the MIC hoped that the council would be set up soon because it could end the bickering among various quarters on racial matters.
He added that the council could be incorporated into the Act at a later stage. He said the council should also be given powers to ensure its proposals were accepted and implemented by the Government.

I DON’T THINK WE RAKYAT NEED THAT. WE DO UNDERSTAND AND RESPECT EACH OTHER’S SENTMENTS AND FEELINGS ( MOST OF US ATLEAST)

REFERRING TO THE NON-STOP "TEMPLE ISSUES" , I THINK THIS IS VITAL FOR THE AUTHORITIES…..
