Greetings,

51 years after merdeka, we are still haunted by strong racial sentiments?

Ref to the unacceptable remarks from Bukit Bendera Umno division chief Datuk Ahmad Ismail, Chinese are pendatang, so they don't deserve equal rights. And this person, defended his statement " i am just quoting it from our history".

History? For god's sake , the history of "malaysia merdeka" scribed with the courage, blood, sweat and tears of Malays, Chinese, Indians and other races. One must be real dumb or retarded to deny that fact!!!

The effort for independence was spearheaded by Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj, the first Prime Minister of Malaysia, who led a delegation of ministers and political leaders of Malaya in negotiations with the British in London for Merdeka, or independence along with the first president of the Malayan Chinese Association (MCA) Tun Dato Sir Tan Cheng Lock and fifth President of Malaysian Indian Congress Tun V.T. Sambanthan.

Prime Minister

Kuala Lumpur, 31st. Day of August 1957

Our deputy prime minister, apologized....... because this incident occurred in his presence. And Prime Minister @ Chairman of BN made his point clear that the statement above is and individual remark, and it should not be considered as the stand of BN or UMNO.

Non-Malays in this country are Umno’s partners whose rights and interests will be safeguarded, Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said.

He said Umno has never regarded the Chinese in this country as “pendatang” (immigrants), and as the main pillar in Barisan Nasional, Umno’s policy is clear that the party accepts non-Malays as partners in nation-building .

Najib said it is also clear that the Barisan policy would focus on nation-building and any views given by other leaders at division level are their personal views.

So, anyone who is too 'smart' to deny this fact, should bare the consequences alone. The one should not hide behind any political parties or leaders. And He should not be 'protected' by the name of Barisan Nasional!!!

PM to Ahmad Ismail: Explain, or face action

Bukit Bendera Umno division chief Datuk Ahmad Ismail’s fate will be decided Tuesday after a meeting with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi and his deputy Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak.

“He will be asked to explain himself, after which we will decide what action will be taken against him,” Abdullah said.

“I’m very unhappy with what has happened and will take a firm stand on the issue,” he told reporters after meeting ambassadors and foreign dignitaries at Wisma Putra on Monday.

When briefed on a meeting earlier Monday in which Ahmad had asked Gerakan to leave the Barisan Nasional coalition, Abdullah said, “Ahmad should not blame other parties; it’s not for him to ask a component party to leave Barisan.”

sIn line with the party’s rebranding vision, the MIC Youth today opened its new office at the party headquarters, aimed at effectively serving its members.

Newly appointed Youth chief T. Mohan said the opening of the new office showed that the Youth wing was serious in its efforts to rebrand the party and at the same time serve its members more effectively.

“We will station a communications officer at the office to hear and solve problems that crop up. We normally deal with issues concerning birth certificates and identity cards.

“This office would also serve as a one-stop centre. We will deal with these problems systematically. We will also forward problems to the relevant authorities and two other officers will be in charge of this,” he told reporters after the opening by party president Datuk Seri S.Samy Vellu.

He said all complaints pertaining to social and welfare issues would be handled by several other officers who would man the office from 9am to 6pm from Monday to Friday and 9am to 1pm on Saturday. The party wing also launched its new website today. It can be accessed at www.pemudamic. org.

The land MIC owns in Bandar Utama was bought for RM3 million before 2000 and the deal met all legal procedures, said party president Datuk Seri S. Samy Vellu. He said the then state administration of Datuk Seri Abu Hassan Omar (who was Selangor mentri besar from 1997 to August 2000) sold MIC the land for its building.

It was not meant for a Tamil school as there was already an allocation of land for one there, said Samy Vellu in response to a report in the Sun that seven parcels allotted for public amenities by the developer of the up market housing estate had been sold to private hands,as well as the MIC and Gerakan. He said he and three other MIC office bearers were holding the land in trust for the party. “If the present government wants to challenge me, I will fight them all the way,” the former works minister thundered when told that the Land Office record shows that the MIC was holding the land in trust for him.

“You tell me. Once the state government gives someone a piece of land, and it is paid for can the states take it back? Of course not!” said Samy Vellu, adding that he also had no knowledge that the land’s status is now listed as “commercial”. “No! No! No! This is not true. “The land was subdivided a long time ago for various needs, including a Malay (national)school,” he said, adding in jest: “Yes, I stole the land. It is my grandfather’s land! ”On Aug 29, the Sun reported that land meant for a surau, schools, a community hall, food courts and a fire station were surrendered instead to a used-car dealer, car showroom operators, the MIC and Gerakan.

Petaling Land Office records show that the MIC was given a 99-year lease on the 12,141sq m (about 130,000 sq ft). It was one of seven parcels surrendered by Damansara Development Sdn Bhd to the state government to build public amenities. It borders the SRJK (Tamil) Ephingham. It is learnt that the entire area exceeding 24,000 sq m had originally been set aside for the school

What MIC done for the past 51 years? Thats what almost everyone who visits my blog asking. Well It'll be hell of a long list ppl. But since many of us choose to deny whatever MIC did in the past, i choose to update what is MIC doing right NOW. ( what i able to find out)

  • Tekun Loan

Under the poverty eradication program for the Indian community, the government has allocated RM 3 million for small and medium enterprises to be given out as loans. This opportunity is made available for young Indians between the ages of 18 – 40 years old. Tekun Nasional with Yayasan Strategik Sosial has formed a committee to implement and monitor the progress and process of this initiative.
  • Bank Simpanan Nasional Offers Jobs for Eligible Malaysian Indians

Malaysian Indians’ participation in the public service sector has been very low. ‘More opportunities need to be provided to Malaysian Indians in public service agencies and government linked companies and organisations,’ has been a heart cry of the Malaysian Indian Congress.
Some of the previous Walks...........

15 days left, for BN and PR to switch seats in parliament, according to YB DSAI of course. The clock is ticking, and PP's new YB still looks confident with his line " we(I) are(am) on track".

2 news highlights in malaysiakini (unusually dull today, i wonder why) Pakatan moots Sept 16 public holiday and PM appeals for support. DSAI sounds confident and Pak Lah panics??

"The sept 16" , one of the main factor wich holding up PR's loose coalition. We can see, they choose to put aside their diff for now because of this. If anwar fails, he'll be branded as PEMBOHONG NOMBOR SATU NEGARA and his DAP, PAS 'friends' may loose trust on his leadership. If he managed to perform this miracle, then he better be ready to face a quandary , especially from PAS's YB Hadi.

Lets see........... 15 days and counting.........
